In the context of the Tomás Francisco Prieto Prize, the Casa de la Moneda Museum presents the work of the Spanish artist José María Sicilia (born in 1954), which brings together a number of important creations, representative of the last three years and inspired by his frequent travels, Particularly the Middle East and Japan.

José María Sicilia has devoted much of his pictorial inquiry to interrogating the immaterial space between art and life, Eros and Thanatos. Beyond its immediate beauty, the works of José María Sicilia take us to border territories, where the memory is put into abyss.
